404-Error ?

Author(s):

If 404 error related message is not put in the HTML title tag of the missing page, extension will not automatically look for an archive, but user can click on 'Archive' button instead (you should place this button in the toolbar). Clicking on that button will show archived version of any page.

############## IMPORTANT ##############

Several Firefox updates have broken one by one all of this plugin's functionalities.
If even the basic functionality is not working for you, here's a temporary fix:

1. add any page to bookmarks toolbar (somewhere so that it is always accessible, and easy to click on)

2. right click on it and edit its properties:

For name type, for example 'A',
For location enter the following line:

javascript:(function(){window.open('http://web.archive.org/web/20080706114831/'+location.href);})();

In the future, instead on clicking on 'Archive' button from the toolbar menu, click on this new bookmark you just created.

Cheers

______________________For Previous Versions_____________________
In previous versions with automatic detection 'false detection' occurs when an existing page is about this error and has error message in HTML title tag. However, these pages are not common. When this happens, just click 'Cancel' when confirm box appears, and that page will be added to 'whitelist' and will not be mistaken again for a missing page.

POSSIBLE PROBLEM:

Obsolete (no more automatic detection in current version): You 'whitelist' the page by clicking on the 'cancel' button, but warning appears again when you visit that page next time.

SOLUTION:

Try changing permissions of the 'whitelist.txt' file in extension folder.
