COMPATIBILITY ISSUES WARNING !!!:

Compatibility issue may arise when using ClickCutter AutoSearch together with other add-ons related to selecting or copying textual content (such as other autocopy ot autosearch addons).

It is advised either to de-activate other add-ons OR not to use ClickCutter AutoSearch add-on if the conflicts with other add-ons are found.

As an alternative to avoid conflicts you may try a standalone Click Cutter advanced version (for Windows only) which works with Firefox as well as with other browsers and PC applications. It's FREE.

VIDEO (optional):

NOTE that the videos ARE made for a Windows version of ClickCutter. The ClickCutter AutoSearch Firefox add-on functions are very similar so you may watch the video to get a sense of what it does.

The first video is how to make AutoCopy.
Second video is about search function.

1. Just check the videos on the first link to find a an AutoCopy video. This video is done for Windows ClickCutter version but you the principal behind AutocCopy functions applies to ClickCuter for Firefox.

2. Find the video about search menu by following second link. Once again it's about Windows ClickCutter version but the principal is the same.

*Copy any highlighted text to clipboard. Full user control over Copy function.

************************************************************************

If you think you've seen it all then read on to find out why

THIS ADD-ON IS DIFFERENT FROM ANY SIMILAR ADD-ON YOU TRIED BEFORE!

********************************************************************

AUTO SEARCH function:

- You get full control of when you want a search menu to appear and when you do not want it show up when you select text.

STOP GETTING ANNOYING POPUP MENUS EVERY TIME YOU HIGHLIGHT TEXT!

You can add/remove any search site you like to the search menu.

ANONYMOUS Web surfing.

You can add you r favorite proxy site to the Search menu and open any highlighted URL via any proxy site you have on your menu.

When you highlight text to search you can:

- Copy this text to clipboard
- NOT to copy this text to clipboard.

AUTOCOPY

- Copy of any selected text to clipboard without any mouse clicks or keyboard shortcuts.

Allows a user to have full control of what text to copy and what text not to copy on text selection.

- Save at least 2 mouse clicks on every Copy action

- Avoid headaches with unwanted Copying when selecting text.

NEVER COPY A TEXT YOU SELECT IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO COPY IT.

Blind automatic copying of every bit of text you highlight to clipboard can be very annoying and often can be very very frustrating.

All existing 'autocopy' add-ons blindly copy everything you highlight because they assume that if you highlight the text it 'has to' be copied.

They do not understand that highlighting text can be related to other actions where blind automatic copying can be harmful.

Do you really want to automatically copy highlighted text when you do any of these:

- Replace highlighted text
- Move highlighted text
- delete highlighted text
- Print highlighted text

If the answer is NO then here is solution.

Unlike all those 'autocopy' extensions with ClickCutter AutoCopy you can Copy only text you need.

Avoid frustrations with unwanted copying when editing your text with operations such as replacing, moving, deleting or printing selected text.

You highlight text and you decide if you want to copy it clipboard. All with a special command with your mouse without any additional mouse clicks.

Works anywhere in Firefox: with text, webforms, search and address bars

INSTRUCTIONS:

**********************************************************************************************************************************

This addon can be easily activated/de-activated by clicking left button on the icon (in the right bottom corner of the browser) or via setting panel (via Tools/ClickCutter Search command).

Each individual function can be easily activated/de-activated via menu by RIGHT clicking on the icon or via Setting panel.

AUTOCOPY.
************************************************************************
First, you have to highlight the desired text. You do it this way:

- Click mouse in the beginning of the word you want to highlight.

- While HOLDING left mouse down drag the cursor over the word to highlight it.

-IMPORTANT. When you finish highlighting DO NOT release left button and stop cursor movement for time frame specified in Autotools panel ( 0.8 sec. by default). Then you should see icon "c" appear beside your cursor. That's when you release left button. Copy is done.
******************************************************

The time frame (delay) you should wait for the Copy to be performed can be set in the setting panel.

The time delay is what allows a user to have full control over Copy function.

By default the time frame (delay) is set to 0.8 sec.

You can set it from 0.1 sec to 3.0 sec.

The bigger the number the longer you have to wait for the copy to be done. If you want Copy to be performed immediately set the delay to a smaller number though it can be more difficult to control the unwanted copying in such case.

You can also do Copy by highlighting text with double or triple click. When you make double/triple click make sure you hold left button down until you see 'c'. Then release the button.

You can enable or disable the add-on by clicking (left button) on the icon (in the right bottom corner of the browser) or via setting panel (via Tools/ClickCutter AutoSearch command).

If you want to disable/enable Copy by clicking (right button) on the icon (in the right bottom corner of the browser) or via setting panel (via Tools/ClickCutter AutoSearch command).

PASTE.

Paste function can be performed with mouse middle button click. Same as AutoCopy Paste can be turned on/off via Setting panel or icon mouse right button click menu.

AUTOSEARCH.

It is exactly the same action as you do with AutoCopy. The same time setting is used for both functions. Once you highlight the text and wait as instructed above the search menu appears.

The only difference is:

- If BOTH AutoSearch and AutoCopy are activated you have an ability to Copy the text you highlight for Search.

- If AutoCopy is disabled then when you use AutoSearch the text you highlight IS NOT copied. In such case you see 's' icon by mouse cursor instead of 'c'.

ADD/REMOVE SEARCH SITES

You can add or remove any site you like to the search menu via Setting panel.

HOW TO ADD A SITE:

Video instructions:
http://www.viddler.com/explore/clickcutter/videos/45/

Text instructions:

- Visit your search site you want to add. Just go to that site directly by typing site's URL in the address bar.

- Do search on that site for word: clickcutter.com

- After you get search result copy the URL from address bar.

- Paste that URL into the add-ons Search Or Proxy URL field.

Example of the search result URL:
http://blogsearch.google.com/blogsearch?q=clickcutter.com

- Type in site title in Title field.

If you miss any of the fields or insert incorrect search URL you will get "Invalid xxxxx" warning dialog.

If you follow these instructions you will have no problem.

WHAT KIND OF SITES YOU CAN ADD?

Be aware that not all sites can be added to ClickCutter Autosearch.

If the search result URL does not contain EXACT word 'clickcutter.com' in it then this site can not be added to AutoSearch.

TIP: Some sites alter the original search query and may produce search result in URL like 'clickcutter-com' or 'clickcutter+com' or 'clickcutter%com', etc. You can try to replace those altered queries in URL to 'clickcutter.com' ( without ' ' ) . Of course, it's just a tip and it is not guaranteed to work with every site.

NOTE:

Secure URLs containing https:// may not be added to AutoSearch. To work this around just add a normal http:// URL instead of https://.

REMOVE SITES:
Select sites you want to remove and click the button.

ANONYMOUS

You can add proxy site to the search menu the same way as you add search sites. The only difference that, obviously, it will works with URLs only.

Be AWARE that some proxy sites will require the URL to have http:// in the URL in order to work. Test before using this function.
