A minimal extension that removes text from tabs, hides the close button, and decreases the width of the tab so that only the favicon remains. Disabling the extension reverts all tabs to their original state.

As of Firefox 42, tabs have a new audio indicator icon when the tab is producing sound. If you would like to remove it, go to "about:config" and toggle "browser.tabs.showAudioPlayingIcon" to false

As of Firefox 57, the code that this addon is based on is no longer supported. The current functionality cannot be achieved in the new code. The closest alternative involves automatically pinning all tabs (Autopintab: under patterns add .* and enable regular expressions)

Alternatively, to manually do what the addon use to do, click the menu in Firefox, click troubleshooting, open the profile folder, create a new folder called 'chrome', in the folder create a new file called 'userChrome.css', and then add the following to that file:

.tabbrowser-tab {min-width: 45px !important; width: -moz-min-content !important; -moz-box-flex: 0 !important; font-size:0 !important}
.tabbrowser-tab .tab-text, .tabbrowser-tab .tab-close-button {display:none !important;}
.tabbrowser-tab .tab-icon-image {margin-left:5px;}
