This add-on analyzes the strength of your saved passwords.
Click the Password Analyzer icon (lock and magnifying glass) to activate the Password Analyzer window. Click the “Analyze” button to run the strength analysis tests across your saved passwords. Results are displayed in a table with each row representing a single website / account.
Currently the following tests are implemented:
- Duplicates - Checks for passwords used in multiple websites
- Entropy - Checks that passwords are sufficiently complex
- Common - Checks for commonly used passwords
Changing passwords is not currently automated but the add-on is designed to assist you in changing your problematic ones. You can select the websites whose passwords you would like to change by checking their checkboxes. Clicking the “Open Selected Websites” button will open them in new tabs. You can then find the password change link, change the password, and ask Firefox to save it again.
Note: This add-on accesses your saved password database and analyzes your passwords locally. Passwords are NOT sent over the network to any remote servers.
